Churchfield’s Governing Body is proud and happy to present our new Churchfields Vision - and a fantastic video produced by the School Council to accompany it!
After consultations with parents, children and staff, we came up with 3 main themes – ACE:
We want to develop children who believe in themselves, are fearless in their education, and always strive to go further.
We want to help children grow into happy, responsible, brave, confident and competent members of their community, who are ready for secondary school and life beyond.
We are passionate about achieving the very best teaching and learning in every subject in every classroom, making the most of our staff’s talents and our physical environment to deliver the best possible outcomes for every child.
You’ll notice the arrival of a number of bright new posters around the school explaining how these ideas can make a practical difference in our everyday school life. Please click on the Vision poster documents on this page to see them.
But it is not just about words! As a governing body we have been working closely with the senior leadership team to embed these priorities into our school strategy and into our school culture.
You will have noticed some positive changes already this term. We now have specialist teachers in Music, Art, PE, Computing and Spanish, who bring their expertise and enthusiasm to every year group. Our after-school clubs timetable now gives children many more opportunities to discover talents and interests, across a wide range of activities. Our subject leaders are working hard to bring an exciting breadth to the Churchfields curriculum, for example in Science, RE and PHSE as well as the core subjects. We are reinvigorating our approach to literacy, to ignite a passion for reading among our children and improve their confidence and proficiency. And our improved grounds, new classrooms, new libraries, sensory room and extended playground equipment are looking fantastic. We are proud of how far we’ve come – and of all the children’s achievements last year – and we will keep on working, to make sure we go from strength to strength in delivering our vision for Churchfields.
We know you’ll agree the children have done a wonderful job and really encapsulate the spirit of the school with their video. Many thanks to parent Sean Kelly, of Kelly Conference Video, for working with them so expertly on it, and to another parent, Ian Mathers of Skin + Bones, for his creative work on our exciting new posters.
In the children’s own words: Let’s Keep Making Churchfields Better!
